How To Make Patterned Text
(Another Quickie by MoomMist)

This is a real quick and easy tutorial and you will be making all sorts of Patterned Text banners, and signs.
Here is what you need: 1. - A working knowledge of PaintShopPro 7. You can download a trial at Here!. I'm not sure if version 7 is still available so if you have version 8 I'm not sure how to do this technique with it, sorry!
2. - An image of your choice you can use the one that I use by right-clicking on the bottom background and saving it to your computer.
NOTE: A large image works best, you can always resize it.
3. - Your favorite font - The one I use is available by clicking Beffle.
NOTE: You do not need to install the font to your font folder, simple unzip it and open it at your desktop, PSP will find it.

Now we are ready!

  • Step 1 - Open your image in PSP and select the text tool. Select your font, color does not matter in this technique!

  • Step 2 - At the bottom of the of the text box "Create AS" choose Selection:

  • Step 3 - Type your text in the text box and click OK!

  • Step 4 - This is the hardest part! The text on your image will be invisible except for the "marching ants" so you must now copy and paste as a new image. Here is the tough part, if it doesn't all appear on the image, you will need to redo it, because once you copy it the only thing you will get is what you can see. So make sure all of your 'marching ants' are visible around all the words. 4a - Should you want to move it some where on the image, you must using the Move Tool, right click to move it or it will just cut a hole in your image or 'deselect'. So follow the steps and practice!

  • Before long you will be making neat banner, logos, tags, and lots of neat things with patterned text.

Here is an image of all the steps in order

    That's All! Enjoy
