Glitter, lets talk about glitter. It looks so complicated yet with PaintShopPro 7, SuperBladePro and AnimationShop 3 (comes with PSP) you can make glitter until your hearts is content.
I've seen and did several tutorials making glitter including one that uses just PSP and the noise filter, but none really touched my fancy. Then I found one that uses SuperBladePro, you can get a free trial at Flaming Pear.Com but felt that it got complicated with colorizing, so I went one step further to do it my way! If you are really into using PSP, SuperBladePro is one of the plug-ins that you really should invest in just because it is fun to work with and there are thousand of preset available free and you can make your own.

Here is the preset you will need for this tutorial SBP Preset.
Unzip the preset into your environment and texture folder.

Now, lets get started! This is what we are going to make!

Open PSP and a new image 400 x 400 transparent. I've learn always to start out big you can crop it later. Set your foreground to #E4CD0C and your background (Fill) to null. Go to Preset Shapes and choose the star shape, you can use anyone you want. Here are the settings:

Draw your star on your 400 x 400 image! Any size you want, just remember that you will be animating it so you will have 3 images in one, so keep it small, about 125 x 125 is ideal.

Ok, go to your layer palette and right click on the new 'vector' layer and convert to raster layer. Using your magic wand click in the center of the star and go to Selections > Modify - Expand = 2. Now you are ready to flood fill your star. Yes, I know I could have done that by using the fill but I think this gives you more control over the edges. We don't want any empty pixels. Do Not Deselect! Now the fun begins.

On your layer palette you need to duplicate you Layer 2 twice a total of 3 layers plus your Layer #1, we will be getting rid of that later.

Your PSP canvas should look like this:

From here on it is most visual so just follow the images and arrows! Layer 2 activated

Effects - >

Click Ok

Copy of Layer 2 activated. Repeat the SBP only this time you will be turning the pattern. This is what makes the glitter effect.

Copy of Copy of Layer 2 activate. Repeat the previous step and turn the pattern again.

You are finished with SuperBladePro... Since using SBP dulls the color we need to do something about it. This is what I did rather than trying to colorize it. I used Color > Adjust - Brightness/Contrast with these settings.

You need to do this to all 3 layers that you used SBP on, all with the same settings shown on the next page.
